Billie-Marie Stacey Ross
Resume for Download
Hello world,
My name is Billie-Marie. I am pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management at Ohio State University and anticipate graduating in May 2025. I hope that my work ethic and personality can break down stereotypes surrounding autism and create pathways for other women on the spectrum to pursue roles within the hospitality industry. I am capable of doing whatever task is set before me to achieve my goals.
Interests
I have a passion for travel and love to see and experience new things. It is because of this passion that I went to work for HersheyPark, a whole state away from where I’m from. I would like to use this passion within the hospitality industry, either in the cruise industry or in a position with a restaurant chain or hotel brand that would allow me to visit a variety of locations while I work. Getting to see and experience new places is the best way to connect with guests who can some from all over. I love talking with guests and hearing their stories and I love making people happy with great customer service.
Strengths
- Friendly: I can get along with most guests and co-workers with ease.
- Detail-oriented: I can easily keep track of orders that need to be placed, keep count of stock, and keep track of important times with little to no assistance.
- Creative: I have come up with ideas that have helped sell products on the spot without any trouble.
Weaknesses
- Sensitive to sudden loud noises: As someone on the autism spectrum, this is something I can usually handle if it is short and not often. However, too much sudden and unexpected noise or chatter can be overstimulating and can disrupt my workflow and functionality.
- Opinionated: I have been learning not to take things personally when someone has a way of doing things that directly contrasts with my own work ethic or ideals. I told you so doesn’t fix a problem, and arguing wastes time.
- Culinary skills are limited: I am looking at culinary certifications to compensate for this, or learning roles that involve serving food rather than making it.
